How to Survive in the Public Transportation
Surviving in the public transformation is very important skill in Istanbul. Traffic and overpopulation are main reasons to acquire this skill. So how can you survive in the public transportation in Istanbul. Let's look at!
08 :00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m. rule

Between 08.00-09.00 a.m. and 05.00-06.30 p.m. people go to work or come back from the work. Therefore, if it is not necessary, do not use public transportation or any other transportation. Watch tv series in your room, drink tea, relax! If you have to use, your prior preferences should be subway because roads are full of cars in these time periods and traffic can be blocked hours!
Subway-DolmuÅŸ-Steamboat-Bus-Metrobus

If you need to go to somewhere, look at the subway first! Generally it is the fastest way to reach your destination. If there is no subway station for your destination, look at dolmuÅŸ. They are faster than buses, the drivers feel themselves in the "Fast and Furious", so probably you can reach your destination on time. Buses and metrobuses are worst options for far destinations. If you need to go to the Asian side or European Side, forget the bus! Use steamboat, because the traffic in the bridge is eternal!
Metrobuses have their own ways, so they are luckier than bus, but they are very very crowded in compare to all other public transportations. Do not prefer to use metrobus, unless you do not get on at the first station and have a seat.
First station rule

If you want to have a comfortable travel, you try to get on as much as earlier stations. It increases your chance to find a seat. Finding a seat is an advantage in over crowded public transportations.
