Coffee Places in the University
I don't know whether you are a big fun of Starbucks but unfortunately, we do not have Starbucks in campus. Despite the fact, there are plenty of different coffee places that you may like more than Starbucks. If you really need Starbucks coffee or if you could not drink any coffee other than Starbucks then there is a Starbucks Coffee close to West Campus.
That is the address if you wanna go there. Additionally, I tried to add a picture that I found, I hope it will be helpful.
Zekeriyaköy Mahallesi, Zekeriyaköy Mah. Tatar Sok., Panorama Sitesi No: 10, Sarıyer Merkez, Sarıyer, İstanbul, 34450 Sarıyer/Istanbul

However, go to West Campus sometimes seems quiet a lot of work. So, today I will be introducing the utilities we have in the campus.
CAFFE NERO
First of all, it seems a little bizarre but we do have two different Caffe Nero in the campus and so many people prefer Nero's coffees instead of Starbucks because they believe that Nero's coffees are stronger. If you wanna find where the Caffe Nero is then the only thing you need to do to watch "How To?" videos that we made for you! Other than that, you can simply ask anyone and they will help you out.
ÖZSÜT
The second place is opened the last year and it is one of the Turkish Cafes that is popular in Turkey. Ice creams and cakes are great and there are various option that you can choose. However, I usually drink Green Tea over there so, I am not quite sure about the taste of the coffee but it has great location on the 1st floor in Student Center. It is less crowded late in the afternoon and in the morning but other than that it is quite noisy and hard to find a place to sit. (However, this scenario happens in most of the places on the campus. In this cases, generally students grab their coffees and go to Henry Ford or Auditorium to sit and have a chat.)
CAFETERIA
This is the place where we believe most of the exchange student hang out, and I think you may be become one of them. Why do exchange student choose to go there? Honestly, I have no idea but at least I know where you are and we again, made a video for you to find where Cafeteria is much easier. Do not forget to check out the "How to?" videos! This place is a little cozy and right next to dinning center. If you like drinking coffee after having a dinner, then it is great spot for you to grab and enjoy your coffee. Also, there are many different snack that you find healthy. One semester when I did not have time to eat something, I always go there to get a yogurt with some fruit. I really recommend it if you like musli and this place also offers Tavla which is Turkish game, maybe you can find it different and you wanna learn that. You can try any time you want. However, do not forget to bring your student ID. Because to get the "Tavla", you need to give your ID to exchange. It is same if you wanna drink Turkish coffee with Turkish style glasses. (It sounds weird, I know but it is how it is.)
PLANET CAFE
This is the closest little shops that you can find snack, coffee, tea and some food. Sometimes going all the way back from the Engineering Building seems a lot of work and students prefer to eat and grab something from Planet. I do not highly recommend those places but sometimes they are life saving, if you are starving and in a rush as well. In each building there is a cafeteria you can find little things to deal with hunger.
Honestly, it has been a long time -about a year- that I did not really spend time in Koc University but in the mean time I went to university couple of times. I did not see much of a change but if I miss any part, please kindly forgive me. However, I am pretty sure you would not have any difficulty to find your best spots to hang out and mentors will be always with you whenever you need them.
Enjoy!
