Life in the University for VEGANS!

As 8 months vegan person, I thought this post may help you out and make your life easier in Koc University, so let's get started!

Honestly, I did not spend a semester in Koc University as Vegan but I have so many friends that helped me out to create this post for you. So, thank you Eylul Tunc and Esma Betul Savas!

First of all, there are many fruits and vegetables with so many vegan options processed food in Migros. However, as a vegan, I encourage you to live away from the processed food and watch "That Sugar" before buying any more processed food. Sorry, let's focus on things that are vegan in the university.

Dining Center This part is written by the information we gathered from the officer who is responsible for foods in the dining center. All foods which are served with meats are vegan, so you can get this food without meat in it. Since so many people want to eat the meat part instead of vegetable, I am pretty sure that the employees would be more than welcomed to serve you the vegetable part, If you are worried about the oil that is used in the dishes, do not worry they are using pant based oil and we can assure you that they do not use any animal based oils. We have a salad bar in the dinning center and this is also another part you can get fresh vegetables. Kucuk Ev There are many olive oil dishes which are really common in Turkey, you can definitely go for this option because they are light and delicious! Unfortunately, soups that they are serving are made with animal-based oil. So, stay away from Kucuk Ev if you wanna drink soup! Unfortunately, we do not have any information about pasta but many kinds of pasta we have such as "Ankara" and "Filiz" may not have eggs in it because generally all pasta with eggs are written on the cover but to make sure please check it. You can simply search for the Turkish word "Yumurta" in the ingredients because this word means egg in Turkish. Moreover, on many ingredients part you can easily find English part it is pretty common. If you wanna cook some pasta to yourself, keep in mind! Divan There is a restaurant on the ground floor in Student Center that have some different opportunities for food. Unfortunately, we can only assure you about salad other than that there are not many to eat in that restaurant. Cafe Nero As I mentioned in another post, we have a place to drink coffee in the campus. There are soy milk or almond milk option if you wanna go for it. Other than that, the cookies, sandwiches, soups, and musli may not be Vegan.

We tried our best to find a good spot you can find Vegan options. I hope you enjoyed it.

Bon Appetite!
