Lesson to Learn

My Father always tells me that you learn from your mistakes which I believe every adults says that.

However, I am not quite sure is it especially me that try to make mistakes or am I average mistaker. It is really hard to tell. So, let's get into the topic and you will tell me at the end that I am average mistaker or not.

I am traveling many cities and so do my friends. That is a good thing because even though you could not find any person to travel with. You may end with one after you organized your trip. To long story short, I was going to Zurich for 3 days, and one of my friend will be joining me one of the days I was there. As I told yiu good news. I checked out how my friends come and what she is going to do and think about for a second, why I am not joining her. So far so good. Let's come to mistake part that I have made. I asked them I will be in Zurich, so would it be problem to join them through out the trip. Of course, they told me it would not be a problem. Then, I bought to ticket and let me guide knows the situation and she told me it would not be a problem. They told me, they will be in Zurich at 1.30 pm in a one day trip. I did not really think through that part at first side to be honest. Then, one day before the trip while I was talking with my she told me they will be eating breakfast at some point and then they will have another stop. I told her that there is no reason for me to join this trip then because Zurich is kind of the last point and they will have only free time in the city. I texted to my guide and she told me they will be in Neuhausen Rheinfall at 7.15 and if I want to I can join them there which costs me 21 Euros more. Sad right? It was sad but I though maybe I can get refund because I mentioned the situation from the beginning. However, it means I am going to lose 55 Euro then. Actually, this trip is perfect because you see three places in one day and half day is enough to see Zurich City Center honestly. I regret I bought three days travel tickets before I saw the event and everything happened in one day. So, today I have learned a new lesson.

To sum up, I bought tickets to Zurich to travel on my own. I do not like trips that much. However, I miss the cheaper opportunity and I did not really check the trip plan clearly. I thought if I ask them, they will think as I do. However, it is not the case for European culture unfortunately, they focus on their part than your part. So, for me it was a lesson to not lesson what everyone says and check out what it is included in the trip. Life is life. I realized that I can minimize the cost of my travel but there are some biases I have about trips. So, this will be my homework that I will be focusing on before my other trips.

So, tell me what should I have done? Or am I average?
