Wiesn not Oktober Fest

If you are planning to go to Germany for exchange, ready to hear about Oktober Fest most of the time. It may be the biggest event in Germany. Even though it is called 'Oktober Fest' the festival takes place in the middle of September till October.

What is Oktober Fest?

This festival has the same features as the other festivals but the main difference is that there are tents which you can book in advance and sit whole day to drink beer. It maybe sounds weird or amazing, it is really what you are looking for but there are also so many things going on outside of the tents. (When visualizing the tents, keep in mind that they are big houses full of tables and chairs.)

What can I do in Oktober Fest?

In the tents, you need to book places in advance and you basically order food or drink beer with some music and friends. Outside the tents, there are so many attraction options you could give it a try.

You can get ginger bread with different names on it. (I recommend you get the blue framed one because they are the traditional ones.)

There are many different trucks you can get food and sweets such as cotton candy, sweet nuts, fruits are covered by chocolate and any type of meat and French fries. Honestly, you have a lot of different options you can choose from.

Moreover, there are many machines that you can have fun. You need to pay €5-8 to get on. It is very entertaining and way too much crowded.

Where is Oktober Fest?

You can go to any big cities in Germany to experience Oktober Fest. However, the main ones are in Stuttgart, Munich and Hamburg. Generally, people prefer Munich and I also chose to come Munich because the festival is much bigger in here.

Enjoy!
