The University of Essex is based at Wivenhoe Park, Colchester and received its Royal Charter in 1965. It is one of the UK's leading academic institutions and has an international reputation for the quality of its research and teaching. The University has 17 departments spanning the Humanities, Social Sciences and Science & Engineering.

Academic transcript of study, copy of passport information page, English language certificate and learning agreement.
Language Certificate
IELTS: 6.0 overall with a minimum of 5.5 in each element If the student’s home tuition is in English it is not necessary to provide a language certificate.

Transportation Services
Excellent transport links around the United Kingdom and to Europe. Approximately an hour away from London by train. Regular bus service to town centre and local destinations with stops on campus.
Direct shuttle service to Stansted Airport. On Arrivals Day (Autumn term only) the University operates a direct coach service to the campus. Students will be provided with the necessary link to secure a place during August.

We offer single study bedrooms with shared kitchen facilities and either shared or en-suites bathrooms. If students are studying at Colchester they should select accommodation at our Colchester campus, students wishing to study at Southend can apply for accommodation at that location. http://www2.essex.ac.uk/accommodation/

Holiday Arrangements
Accommodation remains open during the Christmas and Easter holidays. All students are required to vacate their rooms at the end of the Summer term.
Accommodation application deadline
Accommodation is arranged via Essex Abroad and students will be notified in August/September for October entry and in December for January entry. Accommodation cannot be guaranteed. Students are not able to use the online Accommodation Application.
