The University
The University of Exeter had just 19 students in 1840 and it is now one of the UK’s most popular and successful universities, with approximately 20,000 students, including over 16,000 undergraduate students. The University is proud to be ranked 7th in The Times and the Sunday Times Good University Guide; 93rd in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings and named The Times and Sunday Times Sports University of the Year in 2015/16.
Exeter has a lively, friendly and welcoming campus environment where there’s always lots going on including over 170 societies such as Amnesty International, Beats & Bass, Harry Potter Society and Theatre with Teeth. If you are interested in sport there are over 40 clubs including Archery, Football, Speleology and Windsurfing.
The University of Exeter has three campuses located in Devon and Cornwall, in the South West of England. The Streatham Campus is a beautiful campus and only a 15-minute walk to the city centre. Over £380 million has been spent recently on facilities. St Luke’s houses Sport and Health Sciences and is only a 25-minute walk to Streatham. Students have studied there for over 150 years and it has retained a vibrant and collegiate atmosphere. Our Penryn campus in Cornwall, close to Falmouth, has around 4,000 students and offers unique programmes such as Environmental Science and Renewable Energy. It offers the very latest academic, research and residential facilities.

Students are expected to be in Exeter during assessment/exam periods. Alternative assessment may be offered to semester one students if their home university’s academic calendar clashes with Exeter’s and they must return for classes. Evidence will be required. Please note that the Engineering department will not offer alternative assessment. They expect semester one students to stay at Exeter for the exams.
